Our accredited MSc conversion programmes are particularly suitable for those who wish to qualify in the property and construction professions, but have a degree from a different discipline (non-cognate).

Admissions

Entry Requirement

Entrants onto the MSc are normally* required to have attained one of the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with honours at lower second standard (2:2), or equivalent
  • A Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, plus experience in a relevant field
  • A professional qualification plus five years’ relevant experience

* Applicants who do not meet the requirements stated above, but who wish to be considered for this programme, should still apply. Such applications will be considered on merit in each case.

Professional Recognition

Graduates of our BSc (Hons) degree and MSc degree programmes can apply for the Probationer Membership of the

  • Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS)
  • The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
  • The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)
  • Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers (HKICM)
  • Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE)
  • Institute of Shopping Centre Management in Professional Recognition (ISCM)

Remarks

These programmes are registered with the Hong Kong Non-local Courses Registry (NCR). It is a matter of discretion for individual employers to recognise any qualification to which these programmes may lead.

These programmes are eligible programmes under the Extended Non-means-tested Loan Scheme administered by the Student Finance Office (SFO), Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency (WFSFAA)
